Lakeland Regional Health CEO and President Named To Becker’s Hospital Review’s Top Hospital CEOs List

Lakeland, FL – For the fifth consecutive year, Lakeland Regional Health President and CEO Elaine C. Thompson, PhD, FACHE, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “135 Non-Profit Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know.” Dr. Thompson has been listed every year since the list’s inception in 2012.

Dr. Thompson brought her visionary leadership to Lakeland Regional Health in 2010. During her tenure, the Hollis Cancer Center and Medical Center were honored as one of 101 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs in 2016 by Becker’s Hospital Review. Forbes recognized Lakeland Regional Health on its best employers lists in both 2015 and 2016. The nation’s busiest single-site Emergency Department continues to garner national and international recognition for its award-winning performance improvement effort. Lakeland Regional Health holds Most Wired Advanced status for 2015 and 2016 from American Hospital Association’s Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives.

A hallmark of Dr. Thompson’s career is her tenacious spirit to provide access to high-quality healthcare for all patients, and she works tirelessly with physicians, community leaders and legislators to improve health services. As such, she is serving her second year as a member of the Florida Hospital Association Board of Trustees.
