PRESS RELEASE — Chicago White Sox Pitching Prospect Makes Generous Gift to Lakeland Regional Health

Lakeland, FL – Chicago White Sox’s 2015 first-round draft pick, Carson Fulmer, has made a generous gift to the Lakeland Regional Health Foundation. Fulmer, a 2012 graduate of all Saints’ Academy in Winter Haven, was a high school All-American prior to achieving that same honor as a member of the Vanderbilt University baseball program.

“It is an honor to support the world-class organization that cared for my father,” said Fulmer, 22. “Giving back to Lakeland Regional Health means a lot to me and to my family.”

Fulmer, who has pitched well in his first Major League Spring Training for the White Sox, was drafted by Chicago as the eighth overall selection of the 2015 MLB Draft. The right-handed pitcher helped lead the Vanderbilt Commodores to the 2014 National Championship and was named the National Pitcher of the Year in 2015 by the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

“We are inspired by Mr. Fulmer’s support and belief in the diligent work we do each day to provide nationally recognized, patient-centered care,” said William K. Pou, Jr., Chairman, Lakeland Regional Health Foundation Board of Directors.

As a not-for-profit healthcare organization, Lakeland Regional Health is committed to providing effective, safe, timely, efficient and equitable care, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay for services. Contributions to the Lakeland Regional Health Foundation provide for advances that keep Lakeland Regional Health on the leading edge of services and technology.

“We are extremely grateful to Mr. Fulmer for his tremendous generosity,” said Timothy J. Boynton, Associate Vice President, Lakeland Regional Health Foundation. “The philanthropic support of donors plays such an important role in the health of our community.”
