Lakeland, FL — Lakeland Regional Health has been named one of only 40 organizations worldwide to receive the Gallup Great Workplace Award. This is the second consecutive year Lakeland Regional Health has been so honored.
The Gallup Great Workplace Award recognizes organizations for their extraordinary ability to create an engaged workplace culture that drives business outcomes. Gallup’s rigorous scientific research links employee engagement to nine integral performance outcomes – customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety incidents, shrinkage, absenteeism, patient safety incidents and quality.
“The world’s top-performing organizations help lead the global economy by engaging their workforces,” said Jim Harter, PhD, Gallup’s Chief Scientist of Workplace Management and Well-Being. “Gallup’s Great Workplace Award winners understand and acknowledge the importance of employee engagement by making it a vital part of their organization while using it as a driving force to create real business outcomes.”
“We are honored to receive this distinguished award for two years in a row,” said Amy Barry, MBA, Lakeland Regional Health Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “It is inspiring to know that our culture of relationships and caring consistently results in a nurturing, engaging and productive workplace.”
“Our exceptional team’s hard work and commitment to excellence make international recognition like the Gallup Great Workplace Award possible,” said Elaine Thompson, PhD, FACHE, Lakeland Regional Health President and Chief Executive Officer. “We could not be more proud.”
Among this year’s Gallup Great Workplace award recipients are CarMax, Nationwide Insurance, Charles Schwab, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Wells Fargo. Gallup Great Workplace Award winners will be honored at the 2015 Gallup Workplace Summit being held June 2–4, 2015, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Top-performing organizations such as Lakeland Regional Health have been found to have an average ratio of nine engaged employees for every one actively disengaged employee. This is more than five times the ratio Gallup found in U.S. polling, and this is more than 16 times what Gallup found in international polling.
The 2015 Gallup Great Workplace Award is one of three major international and national workplace honors Lakeland Regional Health has earned in the last 12 months. Lakeland Regional Health recently was named number 28 on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers and featured in Becker’s Health Review’s list of “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare.”
