Orthopedic Trauma

The leading causes of orthopedic trauma include car crashes and industrial accidents, slips, falls and sports injuries. We are fortunate to have a dedicated Orthopedic Trauma Service at Lakeland Regional Health with three Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Traumatologists.

Orthopedic trauma care ranges from simple fractures to severe life-threatening accidents with multiple fractures. As Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center is the only designated Level II Trauma Center for Polk, Highland and Hardee counties, our Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons provide life-saving, round-the-clock trauma care to those arriving as emergency patients.

Our trauma surgeons are specially trained in musculoskeletal injuries, including fractures and fracture-related issues, that require immediate care.

Our Orthopedic Trauma surgeons also routinely see non-emergency cases on an outpatient basis at our Grasslands Campus at 3030 Harden Blvd #200, Lakeland. Patients who suspect they have a fracture and do not need immediate, emergency care are encouraged to schedule a same-day or next-day appointment with our Orthopedic Trauma surgeons.

At our outpatient care location, you will find:

  • 31 patient exam rooms
  • 5 private casting bays, where care providers immobilize bones and muscles following fractures or surgeries
  • 2 digital X-ray suites for quicker and more efficient results
  • Highly skilled outpatient physical and occupational therapists on site

Prompt and efficient orthopedic care can mean less pain and quicker return to the activities and lifestyle you enjoy.
