PRESS RELEASE — Lakeland Regional Health Names Chief Operating Officer

Elaine C. Thompson, PhD, FACHE, Lakeland Regional Health President and CEO, announced that Danielle Drummond has been promoted to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President for Lakeland Regional Health.

“This change is essential for the growth and success of our organization,” said Dr. Thompson. “Ms. Drummond has done an outstanding job using her extensive background in engineering and healthcare technology management to meet our ever-changing patient needs. We look forward to the experience and insights Ms. Drummond will provide in her new role.”

Ms. Drummond’s responsibilities include oversight of the Medical Center, Physician Group, Hollis Cancer Center, clinical joint ventures and affiliations, and facility design and construction. She also will support strategic planning and growth initiatives.

Ms. Drummond joined Lakeland Regional Health in 2013 and during her tenure, has helped to facilitate the Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group transition, oversee expansion of the Hollis Cancer Center, strategize for growth of our Physician Group and ambulatory practices, and conceive the Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children opening in 2018.

Prior to joining Lakeland Regional Health, Danielle Drummond spent eight years with the Main Line Health System. She had most recently served as Vice President, Operations at Lankenau Medical Center, a 330-bed academic hospital in suburban Philadelphia.

Ms. Drummond, a Six Sigma Black Belt, earned her Master of Science degree in Healthcare Technology Management from Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
