Lakeland, FL – As Lakeland Regional Health continues to monitor and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the not-for-profit health system is pleased to launch a dedicated COVID-19 Telehealth Service, beginning Sunday, April 19, 2020.
“At Lakeland Regional Health, we are committed to the safety and well-being of our patients, their families and our entire community,” said Danielle Drummond, MS, FACHE, Lakeland Regional Health President and CEO Elect. “This new telehealth service provides much-needed, easily-accessible care to residents who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.”
This dedicated Telehealth service provides many benefits to the community, including:
- Timely care from the convenience of their own homes
- Reduced COVID-19 exposure for team members and patients
- Access to highly skilled Lakeland Regional Health providers
The COVID-19 Telehealth Service, operated by Amwell, can be accessed through the website, myLRH.amwell.com. Patients will then be connected with Lakeland Regional Health Medical Staff physicians and advanced practitioners who will evaluate them and their symptoms and prescribe a COVID-19 test if needed.
When a COVID-19 test is ordered, the patient will be directed to the most appropriate Lakeland Regional Health testing location, and an appointment or call will be made to alert the facility. Currently, testing is being performed at our Drive-Thru Testing Center, Respiratory Care Center at Pablo Campus, and Emergency Department at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
“As one of the leading healthcare providers in Polk County, Lakeland Regional Health is committed tousing the latest technology to deliver the best outcomes and safest care,” said Stacy Bolton, Lakeland Regional Health Vice President and Chief Information Officer/Chief Technology Officer. “During a pandemic like this, leading-edge technology allows for swift responses to a constantly developing healthcare challenge.”
The self-pay telehealth visit costs $49 and is available for those 18 years and older.
