On-Site Physical Therapists and Hand Therapists

You are an important part of your recovery from hand injuries or illnesses. Restoring range of motion and strength in your hands, wrists and forearms is important, and hand therapy can provide post-operational rehabilitation, non-operative pain relief and preventative care.

At Lakeland Regional Health’s award-winning Grasslands Campus, a team of highly qualified therapists help you get back to your daily routines. Our outpatient therapy team includes 19 licensed physical therapists – three of whom are certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists, occupational therapists and a certified hand therapist.

Our Hand Therapy program includes:

  • Therapist on staff who is certified by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission
  • Expert rehabilitation for such common conditions as carpal tunnel syndrome, nerve transposition, post-operative care for tendon repairs, arthroplasty and fractures
  • Custom fabrication of splints
  • State-of-the-art equipment

Microsurgery

Our surgeons perform microsurgery for nerve repair. These state-of-the-art procedures, performed using microscopes and precision instruments, are used for operations on tiny vessels, tendons and nerves found in the hands and wrists.

Microsurgery procedures can be performed for:

  • Hand and finger reconstruction for injured fingers and wrists
  • Nerve repair
  • Replantation of severed thumbs and fingers
