Drive-Thru Testing Center

During this COVID-19 pandemic and always, the health and safety of you and your family are our highest priorities. At Lakeland Regional Health, we are constantly seeking innovative and purposeful ways to help our community.

Lakeland Regional Health is pleased to offer the COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Center, now located in Parking Lot N13, at West Lane and Morrell, just north of the Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center Campus. It is west of the Lakeland Regional Health Family Health Center, which is at 300 Parkview Place.  

Those tested at the Drive-Thru Testing site must schedule an appointment and have a doctor’s order for a COVID-19 test and are able to remain in the comfort and safety of their car throughout the process. To receive the $49 telehealth visit rate, you must enter “LRH” as the Service Key.

Frequently Asked Questions COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing

Drive-thru testing allows people to remain in their car to receive a COVID-19 test. This method reduces the opportunities for the virus to spread and is safer for those being tested and for the healthcare workers. The drive-thru process including Check-in, Registration and Testing takes approximately 15 minutes.
Lakeland Regional Health coordinates a drive-thru option for COVID-19 Testing so individuals in our local area will have a convenient place to receive COVID-19 testing if they have a doctor’s order.
It is located at Parking Lot N13, at Morrell and West Lane, just north of Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. The parking lot will have signage directing drivers where to go and we will have plenty of staff on hand to direct people when they arrive.
There are two ways to do this:
• Visit a doctor of your choice for your symptoms. If the doctor determines you need a COVID-19 test, the physician or patient can email (CentralScheduling@myLRH.org) or fax (863.687.1106) the testing order to Lakeland Regional Health and we will call you to schedule an appointment.
or
• You can have a virtual visit at our dedicated COVID-19 Telehealth Service, with one of our Lakeland Regional Health Medical Staff providers for an evaluation of your symptoms. If the doctor or advanced practitioner determines you need to be tested for COVID-19, the provider will send an electronic order over to us and we will contact you to schedule an appointment. This virtual visit costs $49 and is available to those 2 years and older.

NOTE: This COVID-19 Telehealth Service is different from the Telehealth options offered at our Primary Care, Pediatric, Behavioral Health and Specialty Care locations. This new COVID-19 telehealth service is dedicated to those with COVID-19 symptoms who need to be evaluated by a care provider.
Our appointment scheduling is open 8 a.m .to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.
Beginning June 22, 2020, the Drive-Thru Testing Center is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.
Yes. In order to be tested at the Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing site, you will need to have an appointment. But before you can make an appointment, you will need a doctor’s order (prescription) for the test.
Most insurance providers cover the cost of the swab testing.
No. To ensure the safety of our patients and team members, we will only be able to provide testing for those in vehicles and people must remain in their vehicles throughout the process.
Those tested at the Drive-Thru Testing site must schedule an appointment and have a doctor’s order for a COVID-19 test and are able to remain in the comfort and safety of their car throughout the process. Our Respiratory Care Center, 320 Parkview Place, also provides testing as part of more comprehensive care, including evaluations and X-rays. In addition, both walk-ins and those with appointments can be seen at the Respiratory Care Center. Those with severe symptoms can be assessed and tested through our Emergency Department at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
Those 2 years and older will be tested at the COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Center.
Tests are sent to commercial labs for testing, and results will take an average of two to six days. You will be contacted directly with your results. Depending on the results you receive, you may receive further instructions for follow-up care. As always, should your condition change and your symptoms worsen at any time, please seek medical care.
