Lakeland Regional Recipient of the 2014 Gallup Great Workplace Award
Lakeland, FL – Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC) proudly announces that it has been named recipient of the Gallup Great Workplace Award. The award will be presented this May at the Gallup Spring Summit at Gallup’s main campus in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Gallup Great Workplace Award is based on the most rigorous workplace research ever conducted. Using exhaustive research, meticulous criteria, and workplace experts’ evaluations, the Gallup Great Workplace Award recognizes companies who have achieved engagement excellence for their extraordinary ability to create an engaged workplace culture. Lakeland Regional Medical Center is one of only thirty-six international winners demonstrating that it has one of the most productive and engaged workplaces in the world.
“These award-winning organizations set a new standard for workplace excellence,” said Dr. James Harter, Gallup Chief Scientist. “They have proven track records for improving lives with performance. The management tenets they practice have proven value in both thriving and struggling economies overall.”
“We are honored that such a distinguished organization as Gallup has chosen us to be counted among the small number of esteemed companies being recognized this year,” said Amy Barry, Senior Vice President/Chief Human Resources Officer, Lakeland Regional Health System. “Gallup recognizes that regardless of industry, company size, or geographic location, improving the engagement level of a workplace improves numerous other business results, including safety, productivity, and profit. Our Promises and Culture of Caring are the reasons we will continue to be a destination and international success story for organizations such as Gallup.”
Indeed, Lakeland Regional has invested in a culture of caring that is special and unique, unlike any other. Employees and organizational leaders use a framework of promises to treasure, nurture and inspire to guide interpersonal relationships and care for self, patients and families, each other, and the community as a whole. This culture has elevated not only the engagement of employees, but also the performance of each team member resulting in improved operational, workgroup and individual outcomes.
Organizations receiving the Gallup Great Workplace Award have demonstrated the direct correlation of how employee engagement drives high quality outcomes. Each award recipient has linked engagement to business outcomes and integrated engagement into four key areas: Strategy and Leadership, Accountability and Performance, Communication and Knowledge Management, and Development and Ongoing Learning.
