Floria DuHart-Parrish Named Employee of the Month in October

Tuesday, November 13 2012

Congratulations to Floria, “Flo,” DuHart-Parrish who was named Lakeland Regional’s employee of the month in October.  As a patient care assistant on the Trauma 4W/E unit, Flo takes pride in caring for her patients – making them feel comfortable and safe. Flo has been a part of the Lakeland Regional team since 2009, and she is known for her compassionate personality that extends to family members and visitors.  Those who know Flo say she is encouraging, honest, intelligent, organized and trustworthy.

“I remember when Flo was first interviewed for the job and how she had such a sincerity about her.  Since that time, she has never let us down. She pays attention to every detail and gives her all in every interaction,” said Suzanne Roustio, MSN, RN, trauma manager at Lakeland Regional.

At the hospital, she is often called “Mama Flo,” and her co-workers say she is knowledgeable in just about everything.

“Flo is fair and honest. She will let us know if things are not as smooth as they should be,” said Marti Allen, RN, BSN, WTL on Trauma 4W/E. “I always know when I come in and see Flo on shift, it’s going to be a great day.”

“Flo has her finger on the pulse.  She is aware of all the needs of the department and is like a ray of sunshine to work with.  I wish we could clone her,” said Jennifer Rader, administrative secretary for the W/E tower at Lakeland Regional.

On a personal level, Flo is an usher and greeter at her church.  She enjoys helping the elderly – by cleaning their homes and taking them to needed appointments. Flo hopes to one day build her dream home with her husband, Charles Parrish.  In the future, Flo would also like to open a halfway home for young adults.

Flo exhibits Lakeland Regional’s values every day and strengthens our mission to improve lives by delivering exceptional healthcare.  Thank you, Flo, for all that you do!
