Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group, P.A. and Lakeland Regional Health Systems, Inc. have signed a letter of intent that outlines how they will bring their two organizations together.
“We know that in order to provide the best healthcare to patients and families at lower costs, doctors and hospitals must work together in new strategic, operational, and financially aligned models,” shared Elaine Thompson, PhD, President and CEO of Lakeland Regional Health Systems. “We understand that there are a multitude of appropriate ways physicians and hospitals can partner. Our relationship with Clark & Daughtrey is just one way in which providers in our community can come together to center care around patients and their families.”
“Clark & Daughtrey has been looking at strategic options throughout the community on behalf of its patients, physicians, and employees,” stated Adil Khan, Chief Administrative Officer of Clark & Daughtrey. “Affiliating with Central Florida’s premier health system, Lakeland Regional, simultaneously offers Clark & Daughtrey significant autonomy and a close relationship.”
The two organizations will work going forward on several key initiatives including increasing access to primary care, exceeding national level quality of care outcomes, and participation in the newly developing graduate medical education programs.
Clark & Daughtrey has been a member of the Polk Community since 1949, serving patients and families. “Our mission is to consistently provide our patients and the community with the best value in high quality, comprehensive medical care,” said Mr. Khan.
Their 62 providers and 275 employees are located across seven locations and include primary care, as well as, specialties such as cardiology, surgery, pulmonary, and oncology.
