Adult Mental Health Services
More than 26 million people in the United States experience some disability from a diagnosable mental illness. Five million of those are affected by severe mental illness. In recent years, however, the study of the brain, body, behavior, and its relation to the whole person has led to revolutionary advances in therapy and treatment.
From evaluation and crisis intervention to transition therapy and follow-up care, our inpatient and outpatient services are dedicated to helping those with problems regain their ability to function successfully in everyday life. LRH offers comprehensive care for a variety of illnesses, including clinical depression, anxiety disorders, and memory disorders all under the direction of a psychiatrist. Because Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are sometimes accompanied by other medical conditions, we have a multidisciplinary team of professionals specially trained and a unit dedicated to treating patients with both medical and memory disorders. Also, upon discharge, LRH provides placement and referral services to help patients successfully adjust to everyday life.
Adolescent Mental Health Services
Youth face problems much different from those of adults. That’s why we have a special program under the direction of a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who is in tune to young people’s unique needs. Inpatient and outpatient programs are offered with family therapy and family involvement encouraged. Placement and referral services are also provided to help patients and their families better adapt when treatment is completed.
The resources and services of LRH, a comprehensive high-quality healthcare provider that has served Polk County for more than 80 years, support mental health and addiction recovery services. From initial evaluation and crisis intervention to transition therapy and follow-up care, we provide outpatient treatments, available under the direction of a board-certified psychiatrist working closely with certified addictions counselors, that allow people to lead productive lives while undergoing treatment. Our 12-step approach to care has proven very successful in helping people deal with their problem and ultimately return to a happier, healthier life. Individual counseling and support groups are also available depending on the patient’s personal needs.
Lakeland Regional Health Behavioral and Addictions Medicine
Convenient and confidential, we provide easily accessible, individual and family counseling for concerns which don’t necessarily require the direct care of a psychiatrist. Crisis intervention, routine visits and follow-up care, on an outpatient basis, are available for both individuals and families. You’ll meet with a highly trained therapist (a licensed clinical social worker or a licensed mental health counselor), who is part of our treatment team and works under the direction of our psychiatrists.
Families in crisis or trauma, children surviving divorce or the death of a loved one, people with depression, families trying to cope with substance abuse, and others who need help through a trying situation can all benefit from the comprehensive services provided by Lakeland Regional Health Behavioral and Addictions Medicine.
