Baby Care

Our experienced and knowledgeable mother baby nurses will guide you through information about caring for your newborn immediately post-delivery to your journey home. This interactive virtual class will cover essentials like diapering, bathing, infant and sleep safety, newborn care and soothing techniques. You and your partner will be prepared with what to expect through the first month of your baby’s life.

Bariatrics Pre-Op Class

Join us on the second Saturday of every month from 11 AM to 12 PM for our Bariatrics Pre-Op Class!

The purpose of this class is to help patients get ready for their upcoming surgery with an emphasis on what is expected, ideas on what to have ready when getting home, and what to expect in the hospital.

Breastfeeding Prep Class

Class Duration: 1 hour
Price: Free

Breastfeeding Prep Series is a fun interactive 1.5-hour (now in-person) with 2 internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultants who want to help you get off to a great start breastfeeding!

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will share the important details about car seats: Which one to buy, how to install, when to transfer your toddler to a booster seat and much more! In addition to the advice above, have your questions ready! They are a great resource to make sure you keep your child safe in the car!

Heart Smarts Class

Lakeland Regional Health invites you to its monthly Heart Smarts class, free and open to the community. 

The class will help you better understand cardiovascular disease. 

The class is led by Kara Bailey, MSN, ACNS-BC, CMSRN, CCCC, Lakeland Regional Health’s Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Chest Pain Coordinator. 

Topics include:

  • Importance of healthy lifestyle changes
  • Warning signs of heart attack and appropriate action steps
  • High blood pressure, stress management, diabetes, nutrition, and physical activity.

Siblings Class

We are so excited to offer an in-person sibling class for big brothers and big sisters to be! Come learn how to help care for the new baby. We will practice skills such as bathing, diapering, swaddling, cuddling, feeding and burping. Children will receive an award at the completion of the class. Recommended for ages 3 and up.

Stop the Bleed (Bleeding Control Basics Course)

Help given by an immediate responder can often make the difference between life and death.


The Stop the Bleed, Bleeding Control (B-Con) Basics Course is designed for those who have little or no medical training, but who may be called upon to provide initial trauma care and bleeding control prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This course is designed to educate and prepare community members on what to do in a bleeding emergency.
