Awards and Recognition
Specialists at Lakeland Regional Cancer Center have received numerous awards and recognition for outstanding medical skills and service to the community. We pride ourselves on being caring, compassionate and involved with our community. It is gratifying that others recognize and appreciate these qualities that translate into exceptional patient care.
Lakeland Regional Cancer Center’s Radiation Oncology Department was examined by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) and awarded a full three-year re-accreditation. ACRO stated “LRCC is a well organized and operated oncology practice that meets all of the ACRO standards for practice accreditation.” There were no deficiencies or areas of improvement noted in the survey report.
Our breast cancer program is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. In 2009, LRCC became the 52nd designated center in the country and only the second in Florida to achieve this distinction. In 2012, LRCC was awarded a full three-year re-accreditation. This achievement shows that our multi-disciplinary team is dedicated to providing the best care possible. Read more
